Please help me factor the following trinomial:
b^2+8b+7

Factoring Trinomials

In order to factor this trinomial, we need to think of two numbers that we can multiply together to get 7, and add together to get 8. Those two numbers are 7 & 1.

7 x 1 = 7
7 + 1 = 8

Therefore, the factors are:
(b + 7) (b + 1).

Use FOIL to check your answer!
