Inequality Story Problem
by: Karin

I know that writing inequalities based on real life problems is difficult.

Let's start by identifying the variable.

Let x = the number of chapters read each week.

We know that there are 19 chapters total.

If we divide the 19 chapters by the number of chapters each week, we can find the number of weeks.

19/x <(or equal to) 5

Since it must be 5 weeks or less, we will use the less than or greater than symbol.

I hope this helps!

Karin
