Multiplying Polynomials
by: Karin

The best strategy for multiplying these polynomials would be to use the FOIL Strategy.

(q+6)(q+5)

Multiply the First terms:
(q *q)= q^2

Multiply the Outside terms:
(q * 5) = 5q

Multiply the Inside terms:
(6*q) = 6q

Multiply the Last terms:
(6*5) = 30

Now add all parts together:
q^2 + 5q + 6q + 30

Combine like terms: (5q+6q = 11q)
q^2 + 11q +30

This is the product: q^2 + 11q + 30

Hope this helps,
