Off to College!

I am a 32 year old who was pulled out of high school at 15 to help my family. I left high school in the middle of my 10th grade year, so a lot of math I never learned to begin with. I know I am an intelligent person, but the math has me discouraged. I am planning on attending a community college, then transferring to a really good university (UGA) in 18 months to be a high school history teacher. Your site has been a God-send! I have to learn almost all of high school math on my own, and I was about to give up until I found you. Thank you so much!!

Thank you for submitting your story to Algebra-class.com. It's stories like yours, that encourage other people to go after their dreams and it also encourages me to continue adding to my website.

Many people struggle with the prerequisite math courses that are needed for entrance to college. The math courses are very difficult, especially for people who do not use higher level math in their everyday lives and for people who never learned the math to begin with, as in your situation.

Although the classes are difficult, they are attainable - so don't give up! You seem to have the determination, so use that as your guiding force! You can do anything you aspire to do as long as you have the determination!
