How do you find the slope and y-intercept for the graph of the line with the equation y=8/3x-7?

Hi Amanda,

Your equation, y = 8/3 x - 7 is written in slope intercept form. Therefore, you can easily identify the slope and y-intercept.

The slope is the coefficient of x. In this equation, the slope is 8/3. The y-intercept is your constant. In this equation, the y-intercept is -7.
