Writing Linear Equations
by: Karin

Hi John,

If you know the slope and y-intercept of a line, then we will write an equations in slope intercept form.

Slope Intercept Form is: y = mx + b

m is the slope of the line and b is the y-intercept.

Therefore, we will substitute -2 for m and 8 for b.

y = mx + b
y = -2x + 8 is the equation for this line.

Hope this helps,
